PGT screens IVF embryos for chromosomal and genetic problems before transfer — helping select the healthiest embryo, improving success and reducing the risk of miscarriage.

Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) is the genetic analysis of embryos created through IVF, before they are transferred to the uterus. A few cells are gently biopsied from each embryo or blastocyst and tested, so that only healthy embryos are selected for transfer.
There are three types: PGT-A checks for the correct number of chromosomes (the commonest cause of failed implantation and miscarriage); PGT-M tests for a specific inherited single-gene disease; and PGT-SR detects chromosomal structural rearrangements. PGT improves the chance of choosing an embryo that can lead to a healthy baby.

PGT is valuable in specific, well-defined situations.
Selecting the healthiest embryo before transfer.
Checks embryos have the correct number of chromosomes — the commonest cause of failed implantation and miscarriage.
Tests for a specific inherited single-gene disease known to run in the family.
Detects chromosomal structural rearrangements, such as translocations, carried by a parent.
Integrated into an IVF cycle, with testing before transfer.
Eggs are collected, fertilised by ICSI and grown to blastocyst stage.
A few cells are gently removed from each blastocyst by skilled embryologists.
Embryos are vitrified while the biopsy is genetically analysed.
PGT-A, PGT-M or PGT-SR identifies the chromosomally/genetically healthy embryos.
A screened normal embryo/embryos are transferred in a later frozen cycle.
30,000+ successful pregnancies and the National Fertility Award six times (2019–2026).
Air purity 10× cleaner than the international Class 10,000 standard, protecting every biopsied embryo.
An in-house team of experienced embryologists performs every embryo biopsy with precision.
Every fertility journey is unique. PGT success rates depend on several medical and lifestyle factors.

PGT selects among embryos but cannot improve a poor cohort.
Sometimes testing finds no chromosomally normal embryo to transfer.
PGT adds a biopsy, the freeze-all approach and extra cost.

PGT-A checks the number of chromosomes; PGT-M tests for a specific inherited single-gene disease; PGT-SR detects structural chromosomal rearrangements such as translocations.
In the right couples, yes — by selecting a chromosomally normal embryo it improves implantation per transfer and lowers miscarriage risk, though it cannot guarantee pregnancy.
Performed by experienced embryologists at the blastocyst stage, it is considered safe and does not harm the baby's development.
Not always. Sometimes no chromosomally normal embryo is found, which is valuable information even though it is hard news.
Usually yes. Embryos are frozen while results return, then a tested, healthy embryo is transferred in a later cycle.
