Embryo donation is a treatment in which embryos created from donor eggs and donor sperm are transferred into the recipient's uterus. It is the right option when both partners need donor gametes — the woman cannot produce viable eggs and the man cannot provide usable sperm — yet the woman has a healthy uterus and can carry a pregnancy.
The procedure mirrors standard IVF: the uterus is prepared, a screened donor embryo is transferred, and the recipient carries and delivers the baby herself. It is often a simpler and more affordable route than arranging separate egg- and sperm-donor programmes.
