Dr. Himanshu Bavishi

Dr. Himanshu Bavishi founded Bavishi Fertility Institute in 1998, having set out in the 1990s — when India lacked world-class fertility care — to bring internationally benchmarked IVF, ICSI and related technologies to Indian couples and put India on the map as a preferred fertility-treatment destination. Over 43 years in medicine, he has led the institute's growth into a national network credited with 30,000+ pregnancies.

He led BFI's team to India's first live birth using frozen (vitrified) eggs and pioneered surrogacy in India, including the country's first international-patient surrogacy case — the institute remains a leader in ethical surrogacy treatment. He also pioneered HLA-matched 'saviour sibling' IVF for families with a Thalassemia-affected child and has helped prevent rare genetic disorders in high-risk couples through advanced genetic screening.

His clinical focus spans customised, minimum-stimulation protocols with embryo accumulation and genetic testing for poor-prognosis patients, male-factor infertility, and fertility preservation — egg, sperm, testicular tissue and embryo freezing. He pioneered the institute's 'Zero Error Embryo Transfer (ZEET)' technique and hysteroscopic surgery using scissors instead of electrical energy sources to minimise tissue damage. 'When success is a chance, we leave nothing to chance' is the philosophy behind BFI's Simple, Safe, Smart and Successful approach to treatment.

He is invited faculty at international, national, state and local conferences and CMEs, has delivered keynote orations and demonstrated live surgeries at surgical workshops, and is a FOGSI-recognised trainer who has pioneered training programmes for consultants in infertility and IVF.
