Dr. Falguni Bavishi

Dr. Falguni Bavishi co-founded Bavishi Fertility Institute and has over 42 years of experience in reproductive gynaecology, infertility and genetics. Creating lives from microscopic gametes — and using technology and science to help nature's miracles along — has always fascinated her; the precise, delicate handling of tiny lives in the IVF lab is a source of deep professional satisfaction.

She and the BFI team are known for mastering complex genetic cases: couples with a previous Thalassemia-affected child have gone on to have their own disease-free child through HLA-matched 'saviour sibling' IVF, and the team has helped prevent rare genetic disorders — including trichosis, polycystic kidney disease and metabolic disorders — in high-risk couples through advanced genetic screening.

Her clinical focus includes minimum-stimulation protocols with embryo accumulation and genetic testing for poor-prognosis patients, fertility preservation — egg, sperm, testicular tissue, ovary and embryo freezing — and the institute's 'Zero Error Embryo Transfer (ZEET)' technique. She has also pioneered hysteroscopic surgery using scissors instead of electrical energy sources to minimise tissue damage, along with ICSI and embryo biopsy. 'Technology and trust are the two fundamentals on which we help our patients achieve success,' she says — 'the IVF lab is the heart and soul of the IVF clinic.'

She is a FOGSI-recognised trainer who has pioneered training programmes for consultants across infertility and IVF, and is invited faculty at international, national, state and local conferences, workshops and CMEs.
